Looking at the need for practical hands-on training
for the working engineers as well as engineering students,
EFY will soon start hands-on training courses all over India.

We shall begin with a few selected subjects for the
hands-on training, which could be:

•  Basic Electronics
•  Microcontrollers
•  Embedded Systems
•  Robotics
•  Digital Signal Processors
•  FPGAs and
•  VLSIs

The course material for these subjects will be finalised with the help of Lead Trainers who are being identified. They could in turn help us in training the trainers.

The courses would be modular in nature, i.e., one would be free to opt for the modules or the extent of training. Each module would be of a short duration, say, a week.

There will be three options available for training:
(a) at the premises of an institute/organisation
(b) at EFY training centres which are being set up
(c) self-learning with the help of kits, manual and helpdesk

In all, about 100 training centres are proposed to be set up all over India by March 2009. Besides training, these centres would also provide/sell training kits, other educational and related material.

The Indian electronics industry would be contacted on a regular basis for their requirements, so that the training is in sync with the requirements.

The candidates for training would be accepted on the basis of their educational background, objectives for the training and an aptitude test. Only those who pass the required minimal criteria would be taken in for training.
