“My experience at the EFY Tech Center was quite good. The PCB design course helped me to understand the basics of a single layer board design. I now feel that I can design my own boards at home. The introduction to QUCS circuit simulator and KICAD software was good. I was not aware of these excellent open source tools before. The trainers were patient with the mistakes I made during the PCB design, and were very helpful when I encountered problems with the tools. I learnt some good PCB design techniques.

Providing hands-on training for single layer board design, and assisting the course participants patiently when some mistakes happen, are unique to this training, much of which is practical with not too much focus on theory.

I would also like to take up an advanced PCB design course with some training on 2-layer and 4-layer PCBs, which is currently the need in the semiconductor industry”

“I’m working as a production manager, and time is very critical for the production process. There were many instances where I would request my PCB designers to try and make the design of the PCB more flexible, to reduce the production time as well as the flexibility of the PCB mounting process. The main problem with the PCB mounting process is with the manpower, which is not a well qualified or well paid resource. They make many mistakes while mounting the components, as they need to finish their target.
